Introduction

The Volume Purchase Program (VPP) makes it simple to find, buy, and distribute apps and books to managed devices.

This will allow Ensemble to silently install applications.

Connect Ensemble to ABM or ASM

Download the Content Token File

The same location's Content Token can be used across multiple company accounts in Ensemble or a new location could be created for each company account in Ensemble to ensure the desired numbers of licenses are allocated to the right Ensemble accounts.
  1. Login to your Apple Business or School Manager account.
  2. (Optional) Create a new Location
    1. By default, the first location is created automatically, but additional locations can be created to allocate licenses for apps and books to different groups. Learn More.
  3. Click on your name at the bottom of the navigation menu and select Preferences. Then navigate to Payments and Billing.
  4. Once there, look for the Apps and Books tab found under Payments and Billing.
    1. Note: this is different from than Apps and Books page found on the left navigation menu.
  5. Download the Content Token for the desired location under Content Tokens near the bottom of the page.
  6. Upload the resulting file to Ensemble. Navigate to the Volume Purchase Program tile at the top of the Content Applications page under the Apple Store tab.
