How To Set Up Your Device With Ensemble Using A QR Code

In order to add a device using the QR code method, first navigate to the Devices tab from your company page, choose the "During Setup Wizard" tab, and then "here" to begin generating the QR code.

After clicking to generate the QR Code, this is what you will see:

The first page is where you select the Ensemble version you wish to install. By default, it will select the most recent version available. If you would like to use an older version, click the drop-down menu and choose the version you would like to use.

The next page allows you to set-up a WI-FI connection on the device. This connection will be used during the set-up wizard to install the Ensemble MDM application. The first input box is the Wifi SSID, this is the name of the network you would like to connect to. The next input box is the password to the WIFI SSID that was previously entered. The next drop-down box is for selecting the security type of your network. The Advanced Settings Tab is for extra configurations that may be required for connecting to certain networks. If you're not sure of the parameters of your WIFI network, please consult with your IT admin or check the configuration of your router.

Third, you will see the Branding page. The branding page allows you to change the Ensemble application's color. Check the "Set Main Color" box, then click on the blue color box and use the slider to choose your color.

The Forth page is the Other Settings Page. From here, you can change the language of the device by clicking the Locale dropdown and selecting a language.

You can also Disable or Enable System Applications, this controls whether or not certain system applications install, such as Samsung Gallery, Samsung Notes etc.

Next, you can select to Skip Privacy Warnings (Requires Android 10+). If this is unchecked, you will see a "This device is not private" screen in set-up wizard during the installation of the Ensemble application. If checked, that screen will simply be skipped.

Next, you can choose to prompt the user to log into their Google Account. Leaving this unchecked will skip the Google account login screen in the set-up wizard.

Finally, you can choose to opt in or opt out of being able to grant sensor related permissions (Android 12+), by checking this box and opting out, the Ensemble application can deny but, will not be allowed to grant permissions for location, camera, microphone, activity recognitions or body sensors on the device.

The final page is where you generate the QR code. When you select generate, it will create a QR code with all the settings that were selected on the previous steps. From here, you can scan the code with your device(s), reset it and start over, select Back to edit settings on your previous steps, or Download the QR code for future convenience. To scan the QR Code with your android device simply tap the first screen of the setup wizard 6+ times which will bring up a QR code scanner.
