To manage a device's passcode using remote commands, first ensure that the device has Ensemble version 170 or greater installed. After doing this, follow the instructions listed:
Individual Remote Commands
- Go to the company or project devices page.
- Click "Options > Remote Commands" on the device row that you want to manage.
- Click "Edit passcode".
- A dialog will appear that shows the serial or IMEI of the device that you are managing.
- If your device is on a project, there will be a dropdown which displays the passcode requirements set on the project. The passcode you send to the device must satisfy these requirements.
- If there is no passcode requirement, there will be an option to clear the passcode using the "Clear Passcode" button.
- To manage the passcode, enter a satisfactory passcode in the fields and click "OK".
CSV Upload Commands
- Go to the company or project devices page.
- Click the "Options menu > Actions via csv".
- Choose "Send Command" from "Select an action".
- Choose "Edit passcode" from "Select a command".
- When filling out the CSV that you will be uploading, you must create a "passcode" column for the passcodes that you want to set on the devices.
- After doing this, click the "Upload" button.
Viewing Device Passcode Information
- To see information related to your device's passcode management, open up the Device Information dialog by going to "Options > More Information" on the device row.
- Go to the "Security" tab in the Device Information dialog.
- There will be a "Device Passcode Management" section that displays the following:
- The device passcode (if it was set by a portal admin).
- The status of the passcode.
- The time the passcode was sent or set.
