Introduction
Apple Push Notification Service (APNS) is a required component for managing your Apple device fleet. To enroll Apple devices, an APNS certificate must be added to your company.

Create an APNS Request File
- Log into the Ensemble management console and navigate to the Settings page.
- Select Apple iOS from the left navigation bar.
- Download the certificate request file under Create a Certificate Signing Request.
- Log into the Apple Push Certificate Portal.
- It's important to use an Apple ID that your organization will retain access to, NOT a personal account. You must log in once a year with the same Apple ID to renew this certificate.

- Click 'Create a Certificate'
- Click 'Choose File' and upload the file from step 3.
- Click 'Download' to get your APNS certificate.
- Return to Ensemble, and click 'Upload Certificate' under Upload APNs Certificate. In the dialog window, select the APNS certificate from the previous step, and enter the Apple ID you used.
- You're all set! Your APNS certificate is valid for 12 months, make sure you renew it before it expires.
Renewing an APNS Certificate
- Log into the Ensemble management console and navigate to the Settings page.
- Select the Apple iOS from the left navigation bar.
- Click APNS Certificate Registered! to reveal the Apple ID used to create the certificate last year.
- Download the certificate request file under Create a Certificate Signing Request.
- Log into the Apple Push Certificate Portal with the same Apple ID found in step 3.
- Find your APNS certificate in the list and click 'Renew'
- You can click the info icon next to the Renew button to see more information. The APNS topic displayed in Ensemble should match the value of the UID in the certificate info.
- Click 'Choose File' and upload the file from step 4.
- Click 'Download' to get your APNS certificate.
- Return to Ensemble, and click 'Upload Certificate' under Upload APNs Certificate. In the dialog window, select the APNS certificate from the previous step, and enter the Apple ID you used.
